Houses

Steven and I are looking into the possibility of buying a home for our expanding family. Obviously this is a HUGE decision and we're not taking it lightly.

Steven has a friend in the mortgage industry that we are working on getting paperwork together for so we can at least see what we can be approved for.

We've been looking online at different homes in the metroplex and I'm getting so excited. I mean I might own a home soon!!! That is completely mind blowing! I mean seriously I was talking to my friend Becky about her wedding shower and bachelorette party and the possibilities of where we might have them. Then I had to take a step back and go "whoa hold up, let's wait on the bachelorette party for a location because I might have a house by then that we could use."

I've always wanted to live in a real house my entire life. I lived in trailers in my childhood, and apartments ever since. I want Alexis to have the ability to go in the backyard and play and be safe and have fun. I want her to have a room that she can decorate and that we can paint the walls and whatever else we decide to do.

Sometimes I feel like I'm dreaming and the rug is about the be ripped out from under me and then I wake up and find out none of this life is real.

This is the one we rally like: http://www.8008clarkstreet.com/default.aspx

Week 12 of Pregnancy

What is happening with your baby?
This week your baby will begin to take on more of a normal appearance as the eyes move closer together and the ears move closer to their final position. The intestines have grown so fast that they actually extend into the umbilical cord, but they will begin to move back into the abdomen. The kidneys can now secrete urine, and the nervous system is continuing to mature. Your baby may have developed more complicated reflexes such as sucking.*

How big is your baby?
Your baby is 3.15 inches long and weighs 1 ounce by the end of this week.*

I'll definitely be needing maternity clothes soon. Even though I've lost 3 pounds since I found out I was pregnant my belly is getting bigger. Thank goodness Steven's sister just had a baby and I might be able to wear some of her maternity clothes. I have a dr. appt this week so I'll be posting more about the baby after that.

The Weekend

My weekend started off just right. We got to have dinner with Kimmy and Madi Friday night at Chili's. You just don't know how good it was to be able to sit and talk with Kim and not feel like the conversation was forced. Here lately I feel like when I hangout with people that the conversation is forced or strained, or really like I would just rather be some where else. Everything flowed so easily and it was such a breath of fresh air. Of course we talked about newly married life and her and Brett's honeymoon and how everything went, but we just talked. I have missed my Kim time over the last year.

Well Alexis had a great time with Madi at dinner too! They we're so cute all night.

After that we stopped at Walmart and picked up some ice cream for dessert and went home. We all decided to do our own thing once we got home. I continued reading the 7th Harry Potter book (for the second time), Steven worked on photos for church stuff, and Alexis watched Bolt in mine and Steven's room. Eventually Steven came out and started playing his PS2 and Alexis passed out. I don't know why, but it was a nice relaxing night.

Saturday we slept in as late as we could, which turned out to be 10:00. Lex and I went and got our favorite donuts and then we got ready to go to the park day with the PPBC Singles. However the park day was canceled due to rainy conditions, so we popped on over to Mom and Dad's for a little while. Of course our favorite little baby showed up right after we got there and Alexis got to her first so she held Lacey for quite a while. It is so funny to see us all with Lacey, she is going to be the most spoiled little baby on this planet. She never gets a moments peace, we are all waiting for our chance to hold her. Steven even took Lacey from me and held her for a little while and he sang to her. I think he secretly wants a baby girl, so he can have his little Daddy's girl!

After that we went back home for more reading on my part, and more work on photos by Steven, and pouting by Alexis. She wanted to ask Savannah to come over and play, but she already had plans for Saturday afternoon, so instead she went out to ride her bike. While she was out riding her bike she found some of her school friends out at the pool, and they asked if she could join them. So she went swimming for a while, and then they asked her if she wanted to go back with them for a spa afternoon, and of course she had to go. She had so much fun over at her friend Katie's apartment. She kept sending us text messages telling us how much fun everything was. She even sent us pics of her toes once they were done. I wish I were girly like that, so I could do things like that with her. Right now I feel like all I do is grip at her, and I don't mean to. Well I ended up finishing the last Harry Potter book around 12:00 on Saturday and then went to bed. Steven was still up trying to finish the pictures to be able to give them to church members the next day at service. He was up until 4:00 am finishing them.

Sunday ended up being a busy day. The morning sucked because I was so sick to my stomach that I ended up sitting out in the lobby area and listening to the service from there. Steven said it was a good thing because right after I left these two women sat next to them and talked through the entire service. He's right because I would have gone off on them! My temper is very short right now due to extra hormones, and I would have torn them up. After service we grabbed some food from Wendy's and went home. And then I began to clean and you all know how I am when I get started......I don't stop. Before I knew it I had loaded the dishwasher and switched out the laundry, and empty a box of packed up stuff, swept the kitchen, got the pledge out and was wiping down every wood surface we have, and then.........I got a hold of Alexis's room!!!! She had junk all over her entertainment center and I was tired of it, so we got in there and I made her go through every single thing on there and decide if she wanted it or not, and then where she wanted it to go. By the time we were done she had a trash can full of junk she didn't want, and a very nice looking entertainment center. We'll see if it stays that way.

After that I took her to the pool for an hour where she swam and I attempted to read Persuasion (it was rather bright out and I found it difficult to focus on the pages). Once her hour was up and I was freezing we went in and started dinner. She really likes to help me cook, so I let her help me marinate the pork chops we had for dinner. She mixed all the ingredients for the marinade while I stabbed the meat with a fork. Then she helped me rub some seasoning into the meat and cover it in the marinade. After that she tried to grate some cheese but found it hard to do so she left me to finish dinner alone. I love it when she helps me in the kitchen!

The rest of the night was good. We ate dinner at the table and then we went to the store to buy groceries, and more baby stuff.

All in all a great weekend!

Week 11 of Pregnancy

What is happening with your baby?
Your baby’s head accounts for almost half of his/her entire length. Both the fingers and the toes have separated by week 11. The baby’s skin is still very transparent, but his/her bones are beginning to harden. The external genitalia have almost completely formed, and in several weeks you might be able to know if you are having a boy or a girl. Even though you cannot feel your baby moving around, he/she is very active.*

How big is your baby?
Your baby is over 2 ½ inches long from crown to rump (CRL) and weighs about half an ounce.*

I have a 2.5 in long baby swimming in my belly!! CRAZY!!!!! I just have to say I am so excited to be a mommy again! I can't wait to be able to feel the baby and I really can't wait for everyone else to be able to feel the baby moving.

Week 10 of Pregnancy

What is happening with your baby?
This is the beginning of the fetal period when your baby's organs continue to grow and mature. The majority of his/her vital organs, kidneys, liver, brain, and lungs are functioning, but will continue to mature throughout the remainder of your pregnancy.
Your baby's head makes up half the length of the body, and there is a bulge in the forehead allowing for brain development. Fingernails, toenails, and hair will begin to become visible this week. The fingers are no longer webbed. The baby is actively swallowing amniotic fluid and kicking his/her legs.

How big is your baby?
Your baby is a little over 2 inches long, about the size of a lime, and weighs about a quarter of an ounce.*

Week 9 of Pregnancy

What is happening with your baby?
While your baby is still extremely small, he/she is now ready for rapid weight gain. The baby is beginning to look more like a little person since the embryonic tail is completely gone by week 9. The eyelids are fully formed, have fused shut, and will open again during week 28.
All the baby's joints such as the knees, elbows, shoulders, ankles, and wrists are working and allowing the baby to move about freely within the amniotic sac. Your baby's heart began beating around day 24, but now his/her heart has divided into four chambers, and the valves are beginning to develop. Your baby can also make a fist, and he/she may begin sucking his/her thumb.*
How big is your baby?
Your baby is about the size of a grape, measuring a little over 1 ½ inches (1.67) from its head to its rump, and weighs a fraction of an ounce.*

I have a little grape sized Teddy Graham baby!! Little Nudger is about to begin his/her rapid weight gain which means I'm going to start showing soon, I'm sure. Please don't be a thumb sucker though!

Who knew?

This morning I experienced my first ever unexpected throw up session related I'm sure to the baby.

We were getting ready for work and Alexis was getting some strawberries, but she found a bad one. Well her and Steven were discussing the bad strawberry and how I picked a bad bunch of strawberries. Then Steven picked them up and turned to show me the little fuzzy strawberry along with the others. When he turned his back to put them on the counter I couldn't stop myself, but I made that horrible retching noisy. See I hadn't eaten anything yet so it was more of a dry heave. Well him and Alexis both turn and I've got my hand over my mouth and I"m running for the bathroom. Of you can guess the rest, no need to go into details.

Alexis came in to check on me and she tried to make me get back in my pj's and bed. But that doesn't work for me right now. I can't really miss any work unless absolutely necessary. She's so adorable. She tried to lock me in the room and turned off the lights and proceeded to tell Steven that she had ordered me to bed and that I wasn't going to work. I think she's a little over protective of me.

And God bless Steven because he knows his limitations. I was putting my shoes on and he came into the room and asked if I was okay. Then he said that he would come and hold my hair back but that he would end up shoving me away from the toilet so that he could throw up. I don't think we can share a toilet and do that at the same time.

I love them both!

My Favorite Night of the Week

I know this might sound awful, but Tuesday nights are my favorite. Mainly because we get to watch NCIS and The Mentalist, the two greatest shows ever!!!

But last night was especially good because we had another great night of family time. Once again Alexis and I made dinner together. However I decided that not only were we going to have spaghetti, but that I was going to make little meatballs out of the turkey meat I had set out. Just to let you know I have no idea how to make meatballs, so last night was an experimentation time. I figured how different could it be from making meatloaf, and ran with it. Well Alexis freaked when she saw that I was dipping these little balls of raw meat into an egg mixture, and she freaked again when she grabbed a handful of meat and there were crackers in them. So yeah I think the meatballs were great they just need a little more seasoning than I used and maybe some chopped up onions (or maybe I could use onion powder). Steven said they weren't as hard as he was expecting them to be. I don't know what that means, but he liked them. I can deal with constructive criticism and make adjustments the next time I make them. I also think next time I'm going to see if cooking them in the oven would work better than frying them in a pan. Who knows? I just went with it.

We also did something new last night. Not only did we eat at the table, but we put the meatballs and the spaghetti sauce on the table so all you had to do was dip them out right there. I don't know why but that was a big deal to me. Alexis is also very cute because she went and found some little tea light candles and placed them on the table and had them burning during dinner.

I really like having this good family time. Another thing that helps with the evenings is that when we're finished with dinner I have been cleaning up the kitchen immediately, so we don't have a huge mess the next day to clean up. You don't know how big of a load that takes off.

Then, of course, you have the three of us huddled up on our couch watching our two TV shows and just enjoying being around each other. Which here lately has a bit of a trial because Alexis has hit a pre-teen rebellion stage and can be quite a pain sometimes.

Last night was another great night for the Price/Mouser family!

Monday Night Fun

Okay so I haven't been blogging a whole lot about anything other than the baby, but not this time.

First of all my day at work was horrible. I felt sick to my stomach all day because I kept getting too hot due to the thermostat being set too high because it was cold outside. Right now heat and me don't go together at all, unless you want the food in my stomach to be out of my stomach. Plus I was extremely tired all day and my head was in a foggy cloud and I couldn't think at all. All that was to say my day at a work sucked. I forgot to mention that Steven wasn't at work yesterday because he got tickets to opening day at the ball park, so he was at the Ranger's game with his Dad. He had fun and the Ranger's won so it was a good day for them.

All of that changed when I left work. I still didn't feel great, but I wasn't having to try to use my brain either. I decided that I was going to make potato soup for dinner, but I had to stop at the store to pick up potatoes. Let me tell you I really like the Kroger by our apartment because you can get in and out in less than 5 minutes if you need to. When I picked Alexis up I told her what we were going to make and she asked if she could help. Of course I said yes, who says not to help. I told her she could fry the bacon. So we got home and changed and started dinner. She got to cook bacon for the first time and experience that awful feeling when the grease pops and hits your arm. Luckily none of the pops were so bad that she actually got burned. She also helped me chop up the onions, at least until they burned her eyes. Then she got to cook the onions in the bacon grease to soften them. We just had fun starting dinner and goofing around. She kept flinging potato peels at my feet and legs and then would nearly fall over laughing. While dinner was being prepared Steven and his Dad showed up. Well after they showed up Alexis lost interest in helping make dinner because she had some one to bother, but she wouldn't get out of the kitchen and I kept bumping into her. I actually used a phrase that Steven's Dad says all the time "Get out of my kitchen!" He laughed and pointed out that I say it too and it's not just him.

Dad left and I finished dinner. While I was making dinner I went ahead and started a dessert too. Have you ever heard of Berry Poke Cake? Well you should try it sometime because it is sooo good. I need to try it a few more times to get it just perfect, but I'm sure I'll get down.

Steven asked if I needed any help so I had him set the table and get bowls out for the soup. He saw me grating fresh cheese and he about took the block away and took a bite out of it. We are cheese freaks. Honestly I think we could eat cheese with every meal and life would be grand. We haven't had fresh grated cheese in forever since we always by the bags that are already shredded. Dinner was good, warm, delicious and you couldn't even see or taste the onions (which meant Alexis ate every bite of it).

Towards the end of dinner we talked about playing a game or two and we decided to play Sequence followed by Life. Which let me tell you we are very competitive people so these were well fought games. Alexis won the first round of Sequence and Steven won the second. I thought I was in the running to win Life, but I played it too safe and some how they both beat me with Alexis being the winner. She actually just got lucky on a "spin to win" turn. They have these "spin to win" spaces on the board where the person who lands on it gets to pick two numbers between 1-10 and you get to put how ever much money you want to on each number to win. Then the other players can pick one number and throw in their money. The one who landed on the space then spins and if it stops on your number you get 10 times what you put in. Well Alexis put in $100,000 on the number 4 and got it so she got a return of 1 million dollars along with her $100,000 back. Well then Steven did the same thing later in the game too! I'm just not very good at the whole chance spin thing. Steven even beat me after having lost his job twice. We laughed and goofed around and had a great night.

These are the moments that make life worth living. I love my family and I am so grateful that God has blessed my life with them.
