Where to begin?

Well it's been a little over two months since the last time I posted anything on this blog so it's going to take a little to get everything caught up.

November 9th was the day our precious Emmett was born and our world was turned upside down again. How many life changing events can you have in one year? Let's count them shall we: 1) Steven and I got married on January 31, 2009, 2) Steven became Alexis's step dad, 3) Steven and I found out that we were expecting a baby, 3) we buy a house, 4) we have that little bundle of joy. Practically the only thing we didn't do in 2009 was have any job changes (which I'm grateful for). I'm not sure either one of us could have handled a new job on top of everything else.

Women go back and forth on whether or not they prefer the whole being induced thing. Now having had two babies and one was induced and one wasn't, I would take the not being induced any day. My birth experience with Emmett was completely different from that of having Alexis. I won't go into many of the details but let's say it was crazy right at the end. I went from being dilated to a 6 (which I had been for several hours with no sign I was going to progress any further) to having Emmett within 5-10 minutes. My doctor came in and said that if I hadn't progressed more within a couple of hours that they were going to have to do a C-section and boy did that get Emmett riled up. He decided that no doctor was going to take him via C-section and BAM he made his appearance. If you want the exact details feel free to ask me and I can tell you more, but some people probably don't want all the uncomfortable details.

And of course me being me, I was ready to go home by the next morning, but my hubby and I hadn't talked about it so when the doctor came by and asked I went ahead and decided to stay another day (we should have gone home). We were so stir crazy by that afternoon it isn't even funny.

Emmett was born Nov 9, 2009 at 7:57pm. He weighed 8 lbs even and was 21.5 inches long. I'll have to add more pictures later.
More to come....
